Screen_Shot_2016-06-23_at_9.21.22_AM.pngAt Entelo, we live and breathe recruitment. Finding and hiring great people isn't just the cornerstone of what we’re building. Great people are the foundation of great companies – it's the lifeblood of how we work together.

Given our internal obsession with talent, our friends at HubSpot tapped our very own Jon Bischke to join their podcast, The Growth Show, which features leaders working to grow companies, movements, ideas, and teams. Jon and host Kipp Bodnar, HubSpot’s CMO, met at Entelo headquarters to discuss the common pitfalls ensnaring hiring managers, and what organizations can do to prioritize hiring and retention.

Inbound vs Outbound Benchmarking

Among the myriad topics Kipp and Jon discuss is the ideal balance between candidate channels – specifically, what percentage of your pipeline should be sourced, and what percentage should be inbound candidates. As Jon explains, this can vary role to role.

Candidate Experience

One of the most neglected areas of the hiring cycles is the candidate experience. Jon explains you can’t control your competitors’ offers, but you can control how your candidate experience is seamless, informative, and welcoming to candidates. Often, this aspect of the hiring process can mean more to candidates than a higher salary offer.

Jon and Kipp also cover:

  • Strategies for employee retention
  • How to evaluate quality of hire
  • Common mistakes companies make in their recruiting cycle
