There has been an unbelievable amount of change over the past year. From a global pandemic to social and political unrest to a total change in how we work around the world. Throughout these tumultuous times, Entelo has worked to remain a constant force for good.

By partnering with a large portion of the Fortune 500 and others, Entelo powers Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts positively impacting the lives of underrepresented groups around the world. Each day thousands of highly skilled professionals across all backgrounds are presented the opportunity to take a new position and help makes the world a more equitable place through recruiters utilizing Entelo.

As an executive I am thankful to be surrounded by so many amazing individuals from such broad backgrounds many of which are members of the amazing LGBTQ community. Our culture is enriched when we open ourselves up to the ideas and viewpoints of those that are not our own. As an ally, I welcome any tips and best practices for allyship not just during this month but every month. Here are three tips suggested from the team at Entelo.

1. Educate yourself on the history of the movement.

An easy way to stay informed is to educate yourself on the LGBTQ movement. There are a plethora of online resources (like this) but encourage everyone to ask internally to tap into the rich knowledge and experience from your colleagues and coworkers.

2. Allow those around you to be their authentic selves.

One method we started in our CS org is carving out time for our weekly Monday Huddle to focus on DEI. This provides a forum for employees to share more about what they are experiencing as well as sharing more information on the LGBTQ community. This has led to a stronger feeling of inclusion and equity among our team.

3. Attend an Employee Resource Group (ERG) Meeting.

I’m fortunate to be friends with leaders that have helped found some of the original LGBTQ Employee Resources Groups at some of the largest companies in the world. At Entelo we have multiple ERGs and I’ve had the opportunity to listen and learn to a myriad of viewpoints from members from differing backgrounds.

These are just three ways you can be and ally and supporter of underrepresented groups – but allyship doesn't stop here. We'd love to hear in the comments how you're being an ally in your organization.

Diversity in Recruiting Strategy Workshop

Based on years of best practices working alongside TA and DEI leaders Entelo kicked off our DEI workshop last year. We’ve seen an amazing amount of success on the impact this workshop has made on our customers and love the difference we are making.
