Entelo Spotlight Blog Header (3)Meet Thomas. He enjoys checking out the latest city hot spot.

Role: Accounting Manager

Entelope Since: November 2019

What brought you to Entelo?

I had been wanting to move to SF for a while and see what the fuss was all about. I wanted to continue working in the SaaS space for a company whose purpose/products aligned to help businesses succeed while creating a tangible positive impact on society.

What keeps you at Entelo?

From a personal and career growth side, I am constantly presented with opportunities to sharpen my tools and add some new ones to the box. I also enjoy being part of a company that is supportive and pushes you forward and asks you to do the same.

What fuels your passion for DEI?

As a numbers guy, the data is beyond compelling that working with a diverse team benefits every aspect of a business, from employee retention to personal growth and also the bottom line. From the personal side, working for women and with a diverse team my whole career shows me the grit and determination needed to succeed, which helped my career trajectory as well as helped foster a more caring and understanding mindset outside of my work.

What do you do when you’re not working?

I enjoy acting like a chef and being outside whether it's camping, sports, hiking or hanging out in all the new SF restaurant & bar parklets.

What advice do you have for people starting out in your industry?

Starting out in accounting can feel very siloed, but I would challenge people starting out to really master the responsibilities of their current job and realize you are building a skillset that can open doors to a lot of different career opportunities. It's kind of like the wax on/wax off scene from Karate Kid.

Before working at Entelo, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

My first job out of college was auditing manufacturing plants, which allowed me to learn business from a lot of angles and different people while traveling around the world for three years.

What pets do you have?

A Boston Terrier named Abita.

Next item on your bucket list?

Hiking through Patagonia.

And here's what fellow Entelopes think of Thomas:

"Thomas makes the hard things simple. He works like crazy behind the scenes to make things run smoother and always has a positive attitude. He never takes himself too seriously which makes any meeting involving him even more fun!"

"Working with Thomas is great -- he's always cool, calm and collected.  He doesn't say a lot, but when he does, it's either a very clear succinct summary or analysis of our financials, or a funny zinger that you don't expect!"

We hope you've enjoyed learning about Thomas!
