Happy New Year, Recruiters!

I'm sure you're already off to the races building your talent pipelines for Q1, but while you've been in the weeds looking for talent, there's some fascinating stuff happening in the world of recruiting. Here's a couple early 2015 recruitment updates you can't afford to miss.

1. STEM Women and Diversity Hiring Best Practices

It seemed like every week in 2014, a new company was coming forward with data about their workforce. Without exception, the numbers were embarassingly uneven in terms of diversity. Recently, Dr. John Sullivan, a storied thought leader in the HR Space, chimed in with a meaty two-part post about how best to build a more representative organization, and each part is a must read. Part 1, and Part 2.

2. Recruiting Tools Launches Custom LinkedIn Search

The fine folks over at Recruiting Tools today released their own addition to LinkedIn Search, essentially just a Custom Google Search with some added on filters for more precision searches. Check it out here.

3. Hard-Nosed Look at Hiring Culture

Over on Quora, the ever concerning issue of building a Hiring Culture has popped up, and former Google, Starbucks, and Recruiting Toolbox pro Jason Warner has contributed a pretty comprehensive breakdown of what's integral to a solid hiring culture. I particularly like his explanation of peforming QA on the hiring process:
