Jobvite Summit 2014 rolled out this week to bring sourcers, human resources, and talent acquisition pros the lay of the modern recruiting land.
If you weren't able to join Entelo, Jobvite, and some of the industry's most influential thought leaders, don't fret. We've put together top highlights and key takeaways from one of the biggest events of the year.
Jobvite CEO Dan Finnigan shares his insights on why transparent, authentic companies attract top talent.

Recruiters need to think like Marketers: Think source, nurture, convert & insight. @danfinnigan #jobvite14 pic.twitter.com/jX9qwA4yL6

As engagement and appeal become a crucial turning point for the candidate experience, Finnigan recognizes the hiring process is a broken mess of seedy marketing and advertising tactics. A transparent culture and brand authenticity creates a healthy relationship between talent and organizations, which unquestionably helps build a funnel of qualified candidates.
Onboarding much-deservingly elbows its way into the hiring process. And its welcomed with open arms.
"There is a big difference between a top candidate and an engaged employee" - that's why onboarding is crucial. #jobvite14

"22% of employee turnover happens within the first 45 days.” In case anyone doubted the importance of onboarding & retention #jobvite14
— Rob Stevenson (@EnteloRob) April 30, 2014
In tune with the day's theme of developing a positive candidate experience that thrives on authenticity, frequent communication and building a great employment brand, the importance of the onboarding process was spotlighted as yet another essential aspect recruiters must hone in on.
Many companies forget that the onboarding process continues well past an employee's actual hire date.
Prevent employee turnover, and increase retention and employee satisfaction by maintaining a beneficial line of conversation between team members and the management team. Giving employees the opportunity to share their feedback on the organization provides a platform for constructive criticism and the clear, ample opportunity to make necessary changes.
Make it clear that you care about the way the business scales internally and your team will feel confident that the company is genuinely interested in keeping its foundation strong.
Also, Jobvite unveiled their soon-to-come, real-time chat support tool.
According to Jobvite's Senior Director of Customer Success Jennifer Fray, it will be released next week.
Ooh, my inbox is blowing up with customers interested in chat support! So excited to roll it out next week! Interested, PM me! #jobvite14
