To get started on AngelList, you'll need to be part of your company's team. Whoever is admin of your company's page will need to approve you, but once they do, you'll unlock a handy feature similar to LinkedIn's "Get Introduced". Notice in the above image how once you'd conducted your search, you can filter by candidates already in your team's network. This warm introduction to candidates who have essentially opted in to recruiter communication is a huge advantage in adding top talent.
The Introductions feature, in a Tinder-like shirking of the fear of rejection, allows you to request an introduction to candidates, and connects you with them once you've expressed mutual interest. No more wasting time pinging and re-pinging candidates who aren't interested. In the same way, candidates can request more information about your company, and you can elect to engage with them or not.
The AngelList profile appears similarly to LinkedIn's, minus the endorsements and a few other features. What's great about an AngelList profile is the Achievements tab, which provides an area for candidates to break down some professional wins without being too cocky or self-serving.
The search filters are also extremely useful within AngelList search. Filter by specific company experience, keywords, the type of role the candidate is looking for, and more.
It's a bit early to say whether AngelList recruiting can hold a candle to LinkedIn in terms of recruiting power, but with AngelList you're guaranteed a few extras:
