Build Your Company Brand Using Instagram

recruiting with instagramA picture may be worth a thousand words, but everyone knows an Instagram post is worth much more than that.

If unconventional recruiting is the name of the game, the digital photo and video-sharing channel is definitely one way to go. To date, Instagram boasts over 150 million monthly active users who account for 1.2 billion daily double-taps, or Likes. Let's not forget that it's also considered an up-and-coming social network for recruiting, along with GitHub, Stackoverflow, and Yammer — sites which many companies already use to find qualified candidates.

As we've mentioned, integrating social media into your recruiting strategy is essential to engaging top talent because it builds excitement for your brand and establishes a digital footprint that can improve your candidate engagement.

Recruiting top talent through Instagram is a fun walk in the park. Just take it from these pros:

Banana Republic, 98k followers

Banana Republic reps a whole lotta love for their local scene, using their picturesque whereabouts in San Francisco's Embarcadero, overlooking the Bay Bridge, Pacific Ocean, and all other things #nofilter-worthy, to sum up one key life question: Why wouldn't you want to work here? The company's account is a mishmash of snapshots promoting their latest in-store goods, behind-the-scenes glances to photoshoots and designs in the works, and team outings and events — encompassing countless good reasons why being a member of the team would be a pretty awesome thing. BR's social media marketing blitz for their company culture, community contributions, and high-standard merchandise is bananas, in a good way.

Zynga, ~900 followers

Ba-Zynga! The social gaming company notorious for at-work musings like FarmVille and Words with Friends has an Instagram feed that speaks volumes of charming office dogs, headquarter happenings, and plugs for their main doing — games, of course. Browse through a few of their photos, and it becomes very apparent that the crew knows exactly how to advertise their products, give insight to a day in the life of an employee, and how to have a good time doing it. We've said it before: Work hard, play hard is an appealing work standard, and the folks at Zynga know darn well how milk it.

Ticketfly, 849 followers

Perks on perks on perks — that's what's up at Ticketfly. The event ticketing company has a killer account that leverages on their main jive: live tunage. According to their Instagram, these people don't mess around when it comes to rocking out with their content marketing game out. If your job description includes promoting cool concerts, interacting with great people, and, every now and then, hanging out with a few musicians, it's also your duty to make sure everyone who doesn't work for your company knows it. On-the-job merrymaking is probably one of the best work benefits to capitalize on. Use it to your advantage.
