hello_blog.jpgWant to source talent unseen by your recruiting competitors? We’ve got you covered.

We rounded off our tech recruiting webinar series this week with a final run-through of not just three, but five other networks to source the top engineers, data scientists, designers, and other candidates for your hard-to-fill roles.

Push aside those go-to networks saturated with other recruiters vying for the same people, and scope out tech talent on sites like AngelList, Quora, and Meetup.

Think you’ve sailed and sourced through all waters of the tech world to find the best candidates? Check out these highlights from our webinar and find out.

Meetup: Check out the guest list before the event date.

Meetup is a great network for bringing together people with similar interests and backgrounds through local events you can RSVP to, and for most of these groups, the guest lists are public. One way to prep your conversations with attendees/potential candidates to recruit is to do some homework on guests you’re interested in so your icebreakers have a little more substance and make more of a personal connection.

Attending an event based around a topic you’re not familiar with? Tag team with a guest or colleague who is familiar with the topic to make the intro to someone you’d like to speak with.

Quora: While you don’t need to have an account to use the site, being an active Quora user can help you better connect with candidates.

Don’t underestimate the power of a Follow, Upvote, Comment, or Share. Build rapport with candidates on Quora by responding to their questions and comments with a simple click of a button. Like their response to a question about top companies in the Bay Area hiring electrical engineers? Hit Upvote. Want to receive updates on the latest news and comments from a CPO at a mobile app startup? Follow them. Frequent, tasteful activity and outreach keeps you on their radar, allowing you to nurture a slow and steady online connection prepped for opening a conversation about a role you think they’d fit.

AngelList: Use AL to reach out to talent who are most interested in you.

AngelList has a nifty feature that categorizes users who are most interested in your company. The network caters mostly to small companies and startups, and if your company has a profile on the site, you’re in luck. (If not, consider creating an account!) Here’s what we mean:

angellist interested in you
angellist interested in you
Anyone who’s viewed your company profile and select “I’m interested” under Jobs will be filtered into the Interested in _company name_ section, making it easy for recruiters to add context to their outreach and to hone in on candidates who have actively expressed being open to contact.

Don’t stop here! We’ve got a whole webinar covering even more techniques for recruiting tech talent on Meetup, Quora, AngelList and GrabCAD and Slideshare to help you dig even deeper to find the most stealthy of candidates.
