10 Reasons Why People Choose Entelo

November 28, 2012 at 11:40 PM by Jon Bischke

There's a lot going on right now in the emerging category of "social sourcing." We're excited to see the movement in this space and wanted to share some of the reasons we've heard people are choosing Entelo. This isn't of course to say that they are choosing Entelo exclusively (many of our customers also use other products simultaneously) but we often get the question "Why should I choose Entelo?" and thought it was time that we shared some of what we hear from others:

#1 - Predictive sourcing (aka Sonar) - To our knowledge, Entelo is the only platform in the world that offers predictive sourcing, giving you access to candidates who are more likely to be coming to market soon. Sonar analyzes over 70 variables that are leading indicators of career change, helping you find candidates who are both good fits for reqs you're trying to fill, and more likely to be receptive of inbound messages. Part of our goal at Entelo is to better route opportunity to talent and Sonar represents a huge step in that direction. If you haven't already go check out our first study on Sonar and see what we learned when we analyzed its efficacy at predicting potential job-hoppers.

#2 - More data - Because Entelo aggregates publicly-available data and profile information from a wide variety of sites, you're often able to find many more candidates for a search on Entelo than on other recruiting platforms. For example, a "Ruby on Rails" search in New York on Entelo produces 8,323 results. We ran that same search on two other major sourcing platforms and got less than half the number of results. Of course, while quantity is important, it's not everything which brings us to...

#3 - Better data - Aggregating social data isn't easy and we don't always get it right. No one doing aggregation like this ever gets it 100% right. But we pride ourselves on accurate data and we've heard consistently from customers that Entelo provides the "cleanest" data set they've seen.

#4 - Superior UI/UX - Max and the crew here have done an incredible job building a beautiful product. If you believe design matters, as we do, then we think you'll love Entelo. Of all the feedback we get, the most consisten is how much people appreciate the design of Entelo. The consumerization of the enterprise is here and the Entelo team is proud to be building a product that looks and functions more like a consumer web app than typical enterprise software.

An important aspect of this is how intuitive Entelo is. While we offer training and consulting on our products, many people don't need a minute of training to get up and running with Entelo. While there are tips and tricks to learn ("Caret top" anyone?), the fact that recruiting organizations don't need expensive or time-consuming training is definitely one of the appeals of Entelo.

#5 - Skill tabs - Every recruiter has had moments where they were lost in what we like to call "keyword soup". You know those resumes that list every possible acronym and buzzword under the sun? Our profiles make it easy to assess someone's capability in a certain skill. For example, here's Entelo co-founder John McGrath's profile and the easy delineation of where he's publicly posted information related to his Ruby on Rails expertise. Cool huh? Entelo customers tell us it is.

#6 - Better contact information - Like other social sourcing tools, Entelo aggregates publicly available contact information (the email addresses people post to blogs and social networking sites). We're not alone in this regard. But our customers consistently tell us that we do it better than other products they've tried. And as LinkedIn InMail response rates continue to fall, it's clear that recruiters are increasingly looking for alternatives. (Note: Our long-term vision for Entelo is to help the "recruiter spam" issue, not be an enabler. We have taken a number of measures on this front including offering an opt-out to anyone who'd like their contact info removed from our system.)

#7 - The Entelo Bar - Did you know that Entelo comes with a fully-stocked bar? OK, not that kind of bar, but if you want your Entelo data wherever you are, the Entelo Bar is your cup of tea. Customers often tell us that the ability to pull up cross-site information from wherever they're sourcing is a huge time-saver. One of our goals at Entelo is to provide "recruiting automation" software, tools that automate what recruiters were previously doing manually. The Entelo Bar can dramatically reduce the time required to gather information on a potential candidiate.

#8 - CRM functionality - Entelo won't replace your ATS, but tracking interactions with candidates you are reaching out to is a really important part of recruiting passive candidates. Many companies don't want to do that in their ATS and so struggle for a good way to handle this. Entelo's basic CRM functionality (e.g., the ability to add candidates to list, write notes on them, share profiles within their organization, etc.) is often mentioned as part of why a company chooses to go with Entelo. We're excited to continue to build out more CRM features in 2013 and help recruiters better organize all that information they've been keeping in email/spreadsheets/their heads. :)

#9 - Customer service - We work our asses off to make sure that our customers have outstanding service. Whether it's answering emails at 1 AM or hopping on calls at the break of dawn, we hear lots of compliments about the service customers receive when they sign up for Entelo. Not very many companies have founders that put their email addresses everywhere (mine is jon@entelo.com, John's is john@entelo.com) and encourage inbound emails. We're happy to do that and more. To lift a bit from the wisdom of Tony Hsieh, we see ourselves as a "customer service organization that just happens to sell recruiting software."

#10 - Vision - We believe that you are more than your resume and that what we are doing is our best effort to help other companies grow.

We're more than just another company selling software. It's important to us to do whatever we can to help people recruit more effectively, whether it's writing 3,000 word blog posts, pumping out high-quality whitepapers, maintaining a vibrant Twitter feed or hosting free educational webinars. We're passionate about helping the recruiting community in whatever way we can. It's been our goal from the beginning to build the most powerful tools for helping companies grow, and that vision hasn't wavered.

We have a growing roster of some of the fastest-growing companies using Entelo, and we're excited to add more. Request a demo if you haven't yet, and we'll show you what others have found compelling about our product. Thanks for all of your feedback and we're looking forward to a very exciting 2013!
